Bai Dou Kou (Cardamom). Its scientific name is Fructus Amomi Rotundus. It is aromatic in flavour and warm in nature and has many culinary and medicinal benefits. It is widely used as and a spice and as raw material of curry powder. As per TCM definition, it transform dampness from the middle burner as it is effective in resolving fullness and distension in the chest and abdomen, as well as promote the flow of stagnant qi, due to dampness accumulation, in the Spleen and Stomach. Bai Dou Kou is used for vomiting due to cold in the Stomach, and early stage of Damp-warm Febrile Disease.
