Can anyone order Phoenix herbs and acupuncture needles from us?

No, we only supply to qualified herbalists, acupuncturists, TCM practitioners and doctors. Practitioners must submit proof of qualification upon registration and state the name of their insurer. At Phoenix, we believe in safe practice and Chinese medicine should only be practiced by certified and qualified personnel.

Any patients that wish to purchase herbal medicine or receive acupuncture treatment must consult a qualified practitioner. To find a qualified practitioner, nationwide databases are available at the following websites:

I am currently a student, can I place an order with Phoenix?

If you are in your last year (clinical study), you are more than welcome to place orders upon approval from your tutor. Please register here and email info@phoenixmd.co.uk with proof of study and an email from your tutor.

As a student, you will not be permitted to prescribe herbal medicine or treat patients without your tutor's supervision. It is important that you complete your course and get insurance for practice as you will be responsible for your patients' health and wellbeing.

Can I order herbs in bulk and also individual prescriptions?

Yes of course, you will need to register an account with both the wholesale and dispensary service as they work as two separate entities. We are more than happy to send orders together to save on postage. To arrange this, please call or email the sales team who will be able to help you with this.

Are the concentrated granules gluten-free?

Unless the herb naturally contains gluten, i.e. Fu Xiao Mai (wheat), Mai Ya (malt), Shen Qu (fermented wheat/malt), Yi Yi Ren (pearl barley), then no our concentrated granules do not contain gluten. Unlike other brands, we produce our concentrated granules with the state of the art method of 'Spray Drying', which allows us to produce a purer product with high concentrations. In order to produce a granule form, a food grade binder called Maltodextrin is used at a small amount of 5-10%; this is a polysaccharide (a long chain sugar), and therefore is gluten free.

Please be aware that other concentrated granule brands on the market use different methods of production and will add CORNSTARCH to the product to stop clumping from moisture. Whilst cornstarch does not contain gluten naturally, the manufacturers of the cornstarch often cannot guarantee there is no gluten cross-contamination, as they will often produce other grain based products in the same facility.

Rest assured that at Phoenix, we strive to supply the safest products at the highest quality, to ensure that patients receive the best treatment possible. If you would like to know more, please get in touch with our team info@phoenixmd.co.uk
